L.I.I.A.R Analysis of college magazine

L.I.I.A.R
''Language'' is used that the college sports team would understand, such as the phrase ''pipeline to the pros'', it is a phrase that is primarily understandable to the sporty college students. It isn't formal because it's a sports magazine and therefore doesn't raise serious issues that would require formality's. Slang informal language is used like ''Why are NFL teams drooling over Tennessee's?'' The font also uses sans serif writing to imply it's not fancy. Sport has connotations (especially rugby) of being rough and not 'fancy'.
''Instituition'' because it's a college magazine it is the created by the students of the college, and therefore only contains contents of which a student/teacher/parent of the college would understand and relate to.
''Ideology'' of this magazine is that you will be fit and into sports. The picture is of a rugby player running, which gives the connotations of being healthy and fit. It also helps represent the college as somewhere fun where you can go play games and enjoy yourself, however at the same time be competetive. The colours used are yellow and orange, these give strong connotations of being happy, therefore that links in with the ideology of having fun at this college and playing sports. The blue background gives the connotations of being for a male audience which links in with it being for rugby players. The words ''recruiting'' and ''plus'' are framed by banners, like the kind of banners you would win when you win in sports, therefore it also links in with the ideology that this college is all about sports.
''Audience'' this magazine is aimed at college students who play sports. You can tell this by the name ''college sports'' which is self explantory.
''Representation'' The representation of this college magazine is of being sporty and fit and knowing the informormal language used.
